Reno has been published in many academic journals. His essays and opinion pieces on religion, public life, contemporary culture and current events have appeared in Commentary and the Washington Post, among other popular outlets. His most recent books include “Sanctified Vision: An Introduction to Early Christian Interpretation of the Bible”; “Fighting the Noonday Devil”; and “Resurrecting the Idea of a Christian Society,” published in August. Reno has appeared as a guest on CNN’s “Crossfire,” EWTN’s “Faith and Culture,” and numerous radio shows.
Reno is visiting campus through the sponsorship of Hope’s Cultural Affairs Committee; the departments of history, philosophy, and political science; and the Dean for the Social Sciences; and the St. Benedict Institute.
Sponsored by the First Year Seminar Program, the Senior Seminar Program, the General Education Program, and the Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning, the Liberal Arts Lecture Series informs and enriches student and faculty perspectives on the liberal arts and a liberal arts education. The diverse speakers in the series lecture on the value, meaning, and purpose of the liberal arts as well as reflect on how the liberal arts have shaped their lives.
