I loved everything I did on Anchor Day! The schedule I followed was: welcome event, career & calling session, student panel discussion, class visit, lunch, academic info session, deciding on a major, ending with time for any final questions. I really enjoyed the career & calling session, I personally think it was the most helpful out of all the programs that day because it helped me understand that if I get accepted and choose to go to Hope, they will have my back and help me when I need it, whether it's picking a major or finding a job. I think it would be super helpful to offer more of those sessions. I also found the student panel to be very helpful.
I was able to explore what it's like to be a college student at Hope some more when I met my overnight host. Paige really showed me everything there is to do on campus and downtown. She did a great job answering my millions of questions that I had all night and even the next morning. She was very accommodating, considering I was sleeping on a cot that took up the middle of her's and her roommate Tracey's room. I really enjoyed the time I spent with Paige and getting to meet Tracey after her volleyball game. I could tell that they really love being at Hope based on how passionately they were answering my questions.
Thank you to Paige, Tracey, Nate Haveman (my admissions rep.), President Scogin (for spending time talking to me that morning), and everyone else who made the day possible!! Go Dutch!!
