Friday, October 18 at 7:00pm to 10:00pm

Dimnent Memorial Chapel, Auditorium
277 College Avenue, Holland, MI 49423-3646

The mighty sounds of pipe organ and Taiko drummers join together in the unusual and evocative concert, featuring classical and world music from Japan.
Rhonda Sider Edgington, organ will join with Mark Lopez, marimba, and Carolyn Koebel of Kalamazoo on Taiko drums, along with Hope College voice professor Jung-Woo Kim .  Special guest and Taiko master Ken Koshio of Arizona is in residence in Western Michigan one weekend only for a series of concerts including this one.

The pieces featured include Fujin Raijin, an evocative and atmospheric piece for Taiko drum and organ that takes its name from the Japanese God for thunder, as well as a piece commissioned especially for these players by Carson Cooman (Composer in Residence at Harvard University).
