DESCRIPTION:RESEARCH INTERESTS - Evolution of crust formation through time\
; Hadean geodynamics\; mode and effect of cratonization\; influence of crus
tal composition on other Earth systems\; modeling of complex datasets\; hig
h precision geochronology of complex samples\n\nJesse Reimink is broadly in
terested in how the crust was formed\, deformed\, and recycled\, particular
ly on the early Earth. His Ph.D. work was spent mapping within the remote A
casta Gneiss Complex in the Northwest Territories\, Canada\, an area widely
regarded to contain the oldest known evolved crust on Earth. To investigat
e the formation of evolved crust through time\, he employs a wide variety o
f radiogenic and stable isotope systems including zircon U-Pb\, oxygen\, an
d hafnium isotope systems as well as whole rock elemental signatures togeth
er with Nd and W isotope data.
