About this Event
The Department of Music at Hope College will present a collage concert on Friday, Sept. 4, at 7:30 p.m., with the live performance available for viewing online at hope.edu/live.
Out of an abundance of caution due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no in-person audience. The concert will be taking place in the Concert Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for the Musical Arts.
The string orchestra, conducted by Christopher Fashun, will perform “Symphony No. 29 movement 1,” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Directed by Jordan VanHemert, the jazz ensemble will be performing “Move” by Denzil Best. The Jazz Combo I, also conducted by VanHemert, will then perform another piece to be announced.
The flute ensemble will play “Shenandoah,” by Sondra Tucker, followed by the woodwind choir performing “Overture to Cosi fan Tutte,” by W.A. Mozart. The brass choir will perform “Symphony” from "The Fairy Queen" by Henry Purcell. Lastly, the percussion ensemble will perform “Living Room Music,” by John Cage. All these ensembles are directed by Gabe Southard.
