Join us for an hour of silent reading in the Pine Grove!    

Community Reading Hour brings together students, faculty, and staff for a shared – yet personalized – literary experience. Bring a chair, blanket, or hammock for extra comfort. Read your own book or choose from a selection of titles that will be available, including:  

• free copies of the 2025 Big Read selection – a sneak peek for those considering integrating this title into their teaching or programming in the Fall  
• a curated pop-up display featuring summer reading recommendations from the Van Wylen Library team, available to check out with your Hope ID  

This communal silent reading experience celebrates our campus culture of curiosity and learning. Come as you are, read what you love, and enjoy being in community with other lifelong readers!    

Open to all Hope students, faculty, and staff. Light refreshments provided. No registration required.
