“OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE IN THE FILM INDUSTRY” By ANDREW VAN PERINS, DREAMWORKS ANIMATION
Summary: We'll take a look at how movie studios and visual effects houses have
transitioned from proprietary and closed source tools to building a set of industry standards,
libraries and applications. We'll discuss the Academy Software Foundation, which oversees
many of these projects. Finally, we'll look at how to learn more about these projects and get
involved with contributing to them.
