“60 Years a Programmer and Accidental Witness to Unix History” By Dick Haight

Unix -- the ancestor to Linux -- was released on November 3, 1971.  Unix begat Linux in 1991.   Like the children’s game of “Telephone,” the origin story of Unix/Linux already seems blurred. Dick Haight is a witness to the interesting early years and even participated a bit. He will give his spin on Unix history.

Dick Haight was a Unix pioneer who helped develop many Unix tools.  These tools include many that are still in use today in Linux, including find, cpio, expr, and a large number of include files
