"Must Leaders be Moral? Thoughts on Statesmanship & the Constitution"
Constitution Day lecture by Dr. Jeff Polet
We often assume that good leaders must be good persons. Is that true, and did the Framers of the Constitution think so? What kinds of virtues did they expect political leaders to have, and what kinds of vices did they think leaders should avoid? In this lecture I will entertain the idea that not only do good leaders not need to be good people, they might even have to learn to be bad.
