Eavesdropping on the Experts: Interpersonal Violence and Mental Health in the Latinx Community

Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Haworth Hotel, Ballroom 136
225 College Avenue, Holland, MI 49423

STEP (Student Teaching and Empowering Peers) and LSO (Latino Student Organization) will be collaborating for National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and hosting an Eavesdropping on the Experts Event this Thursday, October 28th at 7pm. The panel will consist of both Hope College faculty and community leaders, and will be discussing Interpersonal Violence and Mental Health in the Latinx community.

We are excited to dissect the issue on a sector of a community where intersectionality comes into play. Social workers that have worked closely with the Latinx population will discuss the importance of mental health, and how this relates to interpersonal violence and intimate partner violence. They will explore topics such as criminal justice, youth development and family dynamics.  If you are interested in learning more or are in the field of social work, psychology and sociology, we  highly encourage you to attend!

The event will be held October 28th at 7-9pm in the Haworth Hotel in Ballroom 136.
