“Project Based Learning – My Teaching Practice and Examples” by Qing Hao, PhD, Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne and State University of New York Buffalo State College
Dr. Hao will talk about 4 projects: (1) imaging based solid modeling and 3D printing; (2) cerebral aneurysm model and flow pattern demonstration in my freshman introduction class; (3) simulated air conditioning controlled by Arduino system for Heat Transfer course (4) Low cost glove for patient recovery.
Qing Hao received his Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Miami in 2010. He worked in Beckman Coulter inc. for Flow Cytometry instrumentation development and in Materialise NV for biomedical imaging analysis software applications. He finished postdoc training in Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), Medical College of Wisconsin and University of Michigan. He has been teaching Engineering courses in Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne and State University of New York Buffalo State College since 2015.
His research is on medical device development and Engineering Education research. He is involved in NSF sponsored workshops in robotics and manufacturing course development in Michigan Tech University and in Texas A&M University in the past and he is interested in Applied Learning, Experiential Learning etc. pedagogical approaches
