Southard will be performing Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Sonata in G minor for Oboe and Harpsichord,” with Rhonda Edgington, harpsichord; Carl Reinecke’s “Trio for Oboe, French Horn, and Piano,” with Gregory Bassett, French horn, and Edgington, piano; Luciano Berio’s “Sequenza VII for Solo Oboe”; and Antonino Pasculli’s “Rimembranze de Rigoletto for Oboe and Piano,” with Edgington, piano.

Southard joined the Hope music faculty as instructor of oboe in fall 2007. Along with her collegiate teaching, Southard keeps an active studio of area oboists. Southard received her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from Michigan State University with oboist Jan Eberle, her Master of Music degree at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
