“Safeguarding Great Lakes Ecosystems: Green Solutions for Cleaner Marinas” By Kathleen Fast ’18, PhD student at Ohio State University
Let’s keep our Great Lakes clean! Boating is an important, and fun, sector for tourism in the Great Lakes, but how is it impacting the environment? This presentation will discuss a collaborative project that involved the implementation of green infrastructure at marinas located on Lakes Erie, Michigan, and Superior. Learn about how environmental sciences and engineering can work hand-in-hand to protect property and our natural resources. This applied research talk will also show how communities can be engaged to make sustainable change.
