“Why are some beaches eroding faster than others?”

Most people live or visit along the coast to enjoy the beach. The beautiful scenery, constant change, and fascinating creatures have attracted the attention of people forever.  When you walk along the beaches along Lake Michigan, for instance, you can't miss that some beaches are wide, and some beaches are narrow.  Do you want to know what's causing this?  Dr. Jun Cheng, a candidate for a tenure track position in Geology and Environmental Science at Hope College, will give you some explanations on beach changes.  He will include his future plan at Hope College towards the end of his talk.
