Throwback Video: Edgar Meyer, Yo-Yo Ma, and Mark O’Connor perform a Meyer composition.
Three incredible musicians, including 7-time Grammy winner bassist Edgar Meyer, combine for an evening of classical and contemporary music.
This new collaboration of three artistically like-minded artists, each carving out their own niche in American music, tours together for the first time in a program including Bach and a new Edgar Meyer work written specifically for this tour. These fresh interpretations of existing and new music will be combined with some fancy fiddling on violin, cello, and bass. Seven-time Grammy-winning double bassist Edgar Meyer is joined by Grammy-nominated violinist/fiddler Tessa Lark and cellist/composer Joshua Roman.
Joshua Roman: “Combines the expressive control of Casals with the creative individuality and virtuoso flair of Hendrix himself.” (Gramophone)
Tessa Lark: “Lark tore up the stage with her fiddling and climbed mountains of technical challenges like a breath of fresh air.” (Cincinnati Business Journal)
Edgar Meyer: “Mr. Meyer is not only a legitimate heir to this tradition but also a great energizing factor to the field. His versatility should be celebrated.” (The New York Times)
