Curateto Lationamericano is one of the world's most renowned classical music ensembles, for more than thirty years the leading proponent of Latin American music for string quartet.
Founded in Mexico in 1982, the Cuarteto has toured extensively throughout the world and have twice won Latin Grammys for Best Classical Recordings. In this program they are joined by Korean classical guitarist, Jiji, called “talented, sensitive...brilliant” by the Calgary Herald.
“An exceptional group because of it clean playing, energy, and freshness.” La Monde de la Musique
“The quartet—brothers Saúl Bitrán (violin), Arón Bitrán (violin), and Álvaro Bitrán (cello), along with Javier Montiel (viola)—play together with a clean ensemble blend and a tone that is occasionally warm but thoroughly penetrating in both soft and aggressive passages.” -Boston Classical Review
Jiji: “A graceful and nuanced player…she presented an intimate, captivating performance.” -The Kansas City Star
