Khan, a world-renowned Indian classical musician, has performed worldwide at prestigious concert halls, music festivals and universities throughout India, America, Europe, China, Russia and Japan.  He has previously performed at Hope College twice, most recently in 2012.

Khan has distinguished himself in Indian classical music by being the first artist known to have attained simultaneous excellence in performing the sitar, surbuhar and tabla.  He is also said to be a star in the world of classical music, with The Chandigarh Tribune of India noting that “... the thunderous ovation never ceased throughout his performance.”  Of Khan, “The Washington Post” has said, “Virtuoso... Classical Purity... Astonishing individuality,” and “Mr. Khan explored the rhythmic intricacies of percussive sound in a way that was both intellectual and poetic.”

Khan was also presented with the Professional Excellence Award for an outstanding musician, performer, and teacher by the State of Pennsylvania.
