Holland/Hope College Sustainability Institute Film Screening and Art Display

6 p.m. - Short talk on pollution and art by Sandra Hansen, local and international artist. Sandra will display some of her recent work focused on the environmental problem of plastic in aquatic environments.  

Dr. Brian Bodenbender will also share information about his microplastic beach pollution research.

6:30 p.m - Screening of the film "A Plastic Ocean" and discussion led by Dr. Kathy Winnett-Murray

About the film:

An international team of adventurers, researchers, and Ocean ambassadors go on a mission around the globe to uncover the shocking truth about what is truly lurking beneath the surface of our seemingly pristine ocean. The result will astound viewers, just as it did the adventurers, who captured never-before-seen images of marine life, plastic pollution, and its ultimate consequences for human health.
