“PARTITIONING THE HARMONIC SERIES” by STEPHANIE EDWARDS, MATH/STATS DEPARTMENT

The harmonic series (H = 1 + 1/2 + 1/3 + .....) is one of those deceptively simple sums that turns out to have surprisingly deep and interesting properties. We will explore the convergence and divergence of this series and various partitioning of it, including the alternating harmonic and generalized Kempner series.
