The Hope College Symphony Orchestra will perform Wednesday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

Works to be performed include “Concerto Grosso op. 6, no. 2,” by Archangelo Corelli; “L’oiseau de feu,” by Igor Stravinsky; “Serenade No. 6,” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; “Capriccio Espagnol, op. 34,” by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov; and “Uppin’ Adam,” by Fred Sturm.

The orchestra is directed by Christopher Fashun. Fashun is an assistant professor of music at Hope, where he serves as the director of orchestras, the music director of the Brazilian Music Ensemble, the head of the string area and an instructor of instrumental music education. He has also served on the music faculties at St. Ambrose University and Goshen College. Additionally, his conducting experience includes leading orchestras and wind bands at the high school and middle school levels, and directing jazz ensembles, percussion ensembles and drumlines at the high school level.
