Please join the Religion Department as we welcome Ryan Harper, a candidate for a position in the Religion Department. His lecture will be in Lubbers Hall 122 at 4pm on Wednesday, January 25 and is titled: Telling the Gospel Slant: American Christians and Creative Writing

Abstract: The late 20th and early 21st witnessed the burgeoning of journals, MFA programs, and parachurch institutions that focus on faith-based literary production. Ryan Harper analyzes these outlets as sites of spiritual formation and expression for those who self-identify as Christians but who have experienced alienation from their home religious institutions.
