The De Pree Art Center and Gallery at Hope College will host its annual exhibition of work by graduating studio-art and art-history majors beginning on Friday, April 21.

The students — six studio-art majors and one art-history major — will deliver talks about their work on Friday, April 21, at 4 p.m., in Cook Auditorium of the De Pree Art Center, with an opening reception following in the gallery from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The public is invited to the talks, reception and exhibition.  Admission is free.

This year’s exhibition is titled “Cacophony.”  The six senior studio-art majors are sharing their artwork as the M2C2S2 Art Collective, with the name based on their first initials.  The collective includes Madai Huerta, Maddie Nelson, Cassidy Lusk, Charlotte Hartfiel, Sarah Hibma and Sophie Mae.  Original research by senior art-history major Zoe Blough will be featured in the gallery in addition to its presentation on April 21.

The exhibition will continue through Sunday, May 7. The De Pree Gallery is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but will also be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, which is the day of the college’s Baccalaureate and Commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2023.

The De Pree Art Center and Gallery is located at 275 Columbia Ave., between 10th and 13th streets.  Those without a Hope College ID, which is necessary to gain access through the front door, should call the Department of Art and Art History at 616-395-7500 to gain entry.
