StrikeTime Performance

Saturday, January 13 at 2:00pm

Knickerbocker Theatre
86 East 8th Street, Holland, MI 49423-3504

The public is invited. Admission is free although advance tickets are recommended.

All of the works on the program have been inspired by visual-art pieces. Dances presented will include “Interpreting the Dots,” choreographed by 1995 Hope graduate Kathleen Dominiak-Treasure; “Sunflowers Together,” choreographed by 2016 Hope graduate Maribeth VanHecke; and “Sunday Celebration,” choreographed by guest faculty member Sharon Wong.

A piece titled  “Leave Your Footprint,” which is a new work by StrikeTime director Nicole Flinn of the Hope faculty and dancers, has been inspired by artist Andy Warhol.  The piece explores the process of pop art and printmaking through movement.

“Leave Your Footprint” is linked to a special outreach effort between StrikeTime Dance and the Zeeland elementary art program, in which third graders learned about Warhol through art experiences. Inspired by Warhol, the students explored their own creativity through artistic processes. Their artwork will be displayed during the performances. The students will also attend a special matinee performance on Friday, Jan. 12. Support for the outreach experience was provided by the Hope College Patrons for the Arts and the Maxine DeBruyn Endowment.

The free tickets are available at the ticket office in the Events and Conferences Office located downtown in the Anderson-Werkman Financial Center (100 E. Eighth St.).  The ticket office is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be called at 616-395-7890.  Any remaining tickets will be available at the door.
