On Saturday, May 7, 2022, the Van Raalte Institute will host a book-signing event from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Martha Miller Rotunda to celebrate the publication of In Pursuit of Excellence by longtime sports information director Thomas L. Renner. This is the third book in the Intercollegiate Athletics at Hope College Series, which covers Hope athletics from 1862 to 2020. Every sport from 1970 to 2020 is highlighted, year by year, in this two-volume, full-color set that features more than one thousand photos. Tom Renner and others will offer words at 10:45 a.m., and light refreshments will be served. The price is $50 for In Pursuit of Excellence and $75 to include Gordon M. Brewer, But How You Played the Game! (1992), and Brewer, Journey of Hope (2002).
