The Women’s Chamber Choir will perform sacred and secular music with a variety of instrumentalists.

Two sacred sets will be performed. The first set will include two early choral works: “Gloria ad Modum Tubae,” by Guillaume Dufay, from the mid-1400s and performed with French horn; and “Veter Unser,” by Heinrich Schein, from 1618 and performed with cello. The first set will also feature a composition of “Psalm 150,” by Emani Aguiar; a simple hymn, “For the Beauty of the Earth,” arranged by Katherine K. Davis; and a spiritual piece, “I’m Going to Sing,” arranged by Ken Berg. The second set will include “I Am Not Yours,” by David N. Childs, “The Seal Lullaby,” by Eric Whitacre, and the choir’s traditional closing song, “Blessing,” by Katie Moran Bart. The performance will include organ, piano and French horn, as well as soloists from the choir. The choir will be singing in Latin and German.

The Women’s Chamber Choir is an auditioned group of 20 to 30 Hope College students, directed by Jennifer Wolfe, assistant professor of music. Established in 2001, the ensemble tackles a wide variety of fine literature for treble voices.

The close-harmony groups 12th Street Harmony and Luminescence will perform a combination of folk, classical and popular hits.
